All systems Go for Lancaster Cohousing
Lancaster Cohousing Group have exchanged contracts on the Halton Gorge site. It’s a beautiful site with a south facing slope down to the River Lune - a perfect spot to create their eco cohousing development. The site is ideal for accessing the amenities (school, shops, pubs etc) of Halton Village and is just 3 miles from Lancaster City Centre which can be easily accessed by a riverside cycle path or bus.

They’ve had lots of visitors to the site and a few new joiners. They had their first design workshop with the architects recently and they are now working on initial drafts of site plans. There are lots of surveys going on and professionals being hired.
They are welcoming new members but are not sure how long it will take to fill up now that they have a site. Places could go very fast. At the time of writing they have 18 households fully signed up out of an expected total of around 30 households.
