We are a community of nineteen households in the North Yorkshire National Park.

We share our lives. We live in shared households, typically made up of two Camphill co-workers (with their family or children), three people with a learning disability and a volunteer. The majority of co-workers in the community are registered Shared Lives carers, responsible for providing support services commissioned by the local authority.

We all contribute to the best of our ability to life and work. We operate several volunteer-led workplaces, e.g. a bakery, wood workshop, biodynamic garden and herb garden, craft room, health food shop and a seed workshop. We work to meet the needs of the other and share our income.

We have a rich cultural life: we celebrate seasonal festivals, have a choir, perform plays and more. We are inspired by anthroposophy and dr. Karl König.

Esk Valley Camphill Community is currently looking for new members

We are looking for a gardener to join our lifesharing Camphill community, preferably someone who wants to develop biodynamic gardening.
The land that Esk Valley Camphill community owns, where we are growing vegetables, herbs and fruit, is five acres and is located in Ainthorpe, close to Botton village in the North Yorkshire Moors.
On the same premises is the herb workshop and one of our Shared Lives houses, Homefield. The garden is a workshop where members of our community who have learning disabilities work and grow food for our houses. We are Demeter certified and practice biodynamic methods.
We are looking for someone who has experience in vegetable growing and a desire to explore biodynamic gardening, to join our team. You will be involved in working daily on the garden, growing vegetables, practicing biodynamic gardening and working with people with learning disabilities. You will also be a part of our wider Camphill community.
If you are interested in the role, have any questions or would like more information, please send an email to opendoors@eskvalleycamphill.org
